Double Take “Quest” is a Thoroughbred. He is a large hunter jumper. Quest absolutely loves to be ridden and just can’t get enough of interacting with people.

“Sonny” is our aging Quarter horse with a white snip down the center of his face. Sonny has a sunny disposition and is a barnyard favorite!. Nearly every morning Sonny dances to the beat of the barn music during feeding time. Don’t be alarmed if Sonny is quick to introduce himself by licking your hand, nibbling on your clothes, or nudging up against you!
Lady

Lady Be Free “Lady” is our lead mare. She is a rambunctious and playful miniature horse, seeming to have more energy than all three other miniature horses combined! She can be easily identified by her reddish dark brown hair, black mane, beautiful eyes, and white socks. She has been in the show ring and has wonderful manners. Lady is the mother to Little Red Riding Hood.
Red

Lady’s daughter, Little Red Riding Hood “Red,” is noticeably related to her mother with beautiful red hair and mane. Red is fully aware of the fact that she is the baby of the herd and rather enjoys that role. One quirky characteristic is that she doesn’t like to be clean; in fact, she loves to roll in the mud and mat down her hair! If there is a briar bush in the field she will seek it out and come back to the barn with an afro full of burrs!
Bogey

Bogart “Bogey” is a bit more of a follower yet enjoys being playful with the other minis, especially Lady. He is a best friend and faithful admirer of Sonny. Bogey can often be found standing beneath his tall friend! We’ve decided not to break it to Bogey that he won’t grow up to be as big as Sonny!
Wonder   Wonder Dusty “Wonder” is the friendliest and roundest miniature horse on the farm! She is quite loveable as well! It doesn’t take long to learn that Wonder is very people friendly, even towards visitors. In her spare time, Wonder can be found eating!

Goats

Nubian goats are milk goats. They are very intelligent and loyal. Daisy is quite talented at unlocking stalls or chains on the farm. Although she doesn’t particularly eat much herself, she is quick to open a locked food stall for the rest of her animal friends!

Pygmy

Pygmy goats are meat goats. They are known for their curiosity and mischievousness. Jimmy is a Pygmy mix black and white with a beautiful skirt which is typical of male pygmies. His nickname should be “Hopper.” Jimmy is notorious for jumping over fences, especially into the rabbitat to eat their food. He also likes to show off his acrobatic skills by walking the fence lines like a balance beam! Our brown and white Pygmy goat, Suzy, is the sister of Jimmy. Like her bold brother, she is not too shy to strut around the arena, quite proud of who she is! Suzy is a bit of a free spirit. She loves treats!

Sheep

Freesians

Eastern Freesians are a milk sheep and they come from the area in France where lavender is indigenous. Bushy and Shaggy are our two Eastern Freesian sheep who love to rub their heads on visitors. They are both interactive, playful, and love attention. Our two other sheep are Hair Sheep. This type of sheep does not have wool, but actually hair that sheds out naturally in the spring. Star can be identified by her solid black markings with a smaller white spot on her head.  April is black and white.

Alpaca

Alpaca are being bred in the United States for their fiber. It is 60% warmer than sheep wool and is known to be hypoallergenic.

Ducks

Ducks

We have over twenty ducks who love to mingle and swim around our pond. The original ducks are heavy bodied domestic varieties. We have Perkin, Blue Swede, Indian Runners, and Roehns. We let one clutch hatch and ended up with a wild variety! Some Mallards occasionally join the group so now we have some that fly in and out. We tried to tell them about migration, but they don’t seem to get it! They all seem to be quite content staying right here on the farm splashing and quacking in the water.

Chickens

Our hens can be found in their pen adjacent to the duck pond. We call them the girlfriends! We have a beautiful pencil dotted Swiss named Dottie and four bantams named Phoenix, Topper, Dit, and Dot. When they are not busy laying eggs, they simply enjoy clucking around together in their cozy environment!

Rabbits

Beau

Our gray and white rabbit, Beau, can often be found under a shady spot in the rabbitat. He loves to nibble on lettuce throughout the day from our visitors and will show you his approval by wiggling his little whiskers!

Nilla

Nilla is our infamous Giant Flemish rabbit who blends right in with snow! Giant Flemish can grow to be 30 pounds. Nilla is average for a female at 19 pounds. Their nickname is “Gentle Giants” and Nilla lives into this description. She is very calm and enjoys lettuce, carrots, and treats.
